Apparently bird feeders are not just for eating.
This little one settled into the feeder today and seemed perfectly content to use it as a lookout point. From there, the whole neighborhood was within view, including anything approaching the yard and whatever might be happening down toward the puddle.
Maybe it was watching for danger. Maybe it was waiting for company. Maybe it simply discovered that the best seat in the neighborhood also happens to come with snacks.
Around here, everyone seems to find their own place eventually.
Some just choose a seat with a better view.
